How do I report a bug?
If the app will not open and stops on an error page, tap Send us this fault on that page. It sends us the diagnostic details, so there is nothing to write.
For anything else, email us with what happened, what you expected, your device model, iOS version, and PickyCat version. A screenshot is helpful, but remove anything you do not want to share.
What if my cat’s food isn’t in the catalog?
In Discover, tap Add a can and add it yourself, with a photo of the side that prints the ingredients. You can log meals with it straight away.
We review it. If it turns out to be a food already in the catalog, every meal you logged moves onto that food automatically; if it is new, we check it and add it to the catalog for everyone.
What if a can’s details are wrong?
Open the can’s page. For a wrong picture, tap Wrong photo? under it; for anything else, tap Edit on that item. A photo of the label helps most — we need the printed figures to check against.
How can I request a feature?
Email us — we would like to hear your ideas.
How do recommendations work?
PickyCat builds a Taste DNA from the meals you log, across six axes — proteins, textures, brands, richness, organ meats, and gums — and compares it against the foods in the catalog.
No match percentage is shown until three meals are on record: with less than that, any percentage would just be the catalog in its default order. Recommendations are estimates, not guarantees or veterinary advice.
Where do the calories come from? What does “Est. calories” mean?
We use the calories printed on the package. When none are printed, we estimate them from the guaranteed analysis (protein, fat, fiber, ash, moisture) with a standard formula and mark them as estimated. An estimate is a guide and can differ from the real figure.
Can I log dry food?
Yes, from version 1.0.10. Dry food has its own log card: enter the grams and it counts toward daily calories and nutrition.
What if I switch phones, or want to log together with family?
Go to Settings → Account & family and sign in with Apple. Your records are kept on our server too: after switching phones or reinstalling, sign in and everything comes back; family members who join your household can feed and log together.
How do I delete my data?
If you signed in with Apple: open the app → Settings → Account & family → Delete my account. That deletes your copy on our server; nothing on your phone is affected. If somebody else is still in your household, the shared record stays — it is theirs too.
Your profile and meal history are stored on your device. Go to Settings → Your data and tap Start over; deleting the app also removes the local data.
If you turned on anonymous sharing, go to Settings → Anonymous sharing: while the switch is on, an anonymous record identifier is shown underneath it. Copy that number and email it to us. A shared record carries no name or email address, so that number is the only way we can find it and delete it.
Does PickyCat provide veterinary advice?
No. If your cat stops eating, loses weight, has an allergic reaction, or seems unwell, contact a veterinarian promptly.
